I came across this during a free promotion on Kindle. I had a vague memory of hearing this story when I was a kid – it’s not one of the better-known Grimm’s Brother’s tales. I wasn’t able to actually compare point-by-point what the writer did that was different from the original, but I could tell his language and tone were different – more modern – more edgy. I really enjoyed the story. I checked out his author’s page – this is really different for him. Could imagine this being animated.
